The following request was received recently from the Grandravine Tornadoes, a Special Hockey International (SHI) team in Canada.  Many ASHA teams are also members of SHI, the organization that put on the SHI Tournament in Marlboro, MA last year and is creating the SHI Tournament in London, UK this year.

I would like to enlist your help to secure a grant from The Toronto Maple Leafs Team Up Foundation Fund for Grandravine Special Program – www.grandravinetornadoes.org. You can see details of our submission called “Access For All” by going to www.mlseteamupfoundation.org/giving/Team-UP-Foundation-Fund, click on VIEW THE CANDIDATES and look for Grandravine Special Program. The grant is awarded by an online voting process, the details of which are listed below. I would ask you if you can to please forward this email to as many people as possible and enlist their help to help us reach our goal of making it to the Top 20 and ultimately one of the four recipients.
 

Voting Process

1. The Team Up Foundation Fund will open up to public voting beginning on January 30, 2012. On that day go to www.mlseteamupfoundation.org/giving/Team-UP-Foundation-Fundand click on REGISTER TO VOTE. You cannot register before the 30^th.
2. Voters will be permitted to submit one vote per day, so please take a minute each day to vote for this very special project.
3. First round of voting will close on February 20, 2012.
4. The Top 20 project proposals (based on votes received) will be selected for review by the Grant Committee.
5. Between February 20, 2012 and March 2, 2012, The Grant Committee will select the Top 10 projects for the next phase of public voting.
6. The final round of voting will open on March 7, 2012.
7. The final round of voting will close on March 16, 2012. The top four (4) charitable organizations who have received the most votes will each receive $50,000 for their project proposal.
8. The final four (4) will be announced on March 20, 2012.
