Robert Morris to Host Annual Alumni Game Benefiting Greater Pittsburgh Special Hockey

Pittsburgh, Pa.- The Robert Morris Universitymen's hockey program will hosts its annual alumni game at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, with the Colonial graduates battling a team of Pittsburgh celebrities at the Island Sports Center.

"The Alumni game in conjunction with our golf outing is a very important event," head men's ice hockey coach Derek Schooley said. "This event brings our alumni back to campus to continue to support the Robert Morris ice hockey program in a different way than they did as players. We are very appreciative of the support, these alumni have given our program and we look forward to an enjoyable game as well as a successful golf outing."

The alumni game marks the culmination of the Colonials alumni weekend. The men's hockey hosts its fifth annual golf outing at the Allegheny Country Club Friday, Sept. 17.

Last season celebrity team featured Pittsburgh sports writer Mike Prisuta and former Penguin NHL players Dave Hannan, Francois Leroux and Mark Kachowski. Also on the celebrity team in years past include Kim Clackson and Pittsburgh media personalities Ross Guidotti (KDKA-TV) and Larry Richert (KDKA Radio). Katie O'Malley of Pittsburgh Penguins TV will be the guest coach of this season's team of celebrities.

Former Colonials Ryan Cruthers, Aaron Clarke, Sean Berkstresser, Logan Bittle, Joey Olson, Joe Tuset, David Boguslawski, Doug Conley and Eric Trax are just some of the former players who have made up the RMU alumni team in years past. Full rosters will be announced at a later date.

Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the Island Sports Center the day of the event. A portion of the proceeds of the event will benefit the Greater Pittsburgh Special Hockey Association.
