Washington Ice Dogs vs. USA Warriors

ASHA member organization the Washington Ice Dogs hosted the USA Warriors friendly but competitive hockey game on Saturday November 22nd at the Gardens Ice House in Laurel, MD which is the home of both programs. The USA Warriors hockey team is comprised of veterans wounded in Iraq and Afganistan.  Max Maksimyadis, who plays goalie on the New York Raptors Special Hockey Team, and is 2008 USA Disabled Hockey Athlete of the Year was in goal for the USA Warriors team. ASHA is planning a partnership with the USA warriors as we will work with the players to stay involved as coaches and mentors with ASHA programs nationally. The game was just one of many that will be played this season between the two teams and a major event is being planned for Sunday, February 15th with the Ice Dogs playing the USA Warriors as well as an auctiona and salute hockey heros both locally and nationally.
